PhD student, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Department of Mechanical, Aerospace, and Nuclear Engineering
M.Eng & B.Sc., University of Patras, Greece, Department of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering
His research interests include structural health monitoring, advanced stochastic methods for structural state awareness, quantum algorithms, deep learning, and transformers for stochastic time series.
Christos Stamopoulos is a PhD student at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, in the Department of Mechanical, Aerospace, and Nuclear Engineering (MANE), affiliated with the Intelligent Structural Systems Laboratory (ISSL). He holds a Diploma (M.Eng) in Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics from the University of Patras. He also completed a Research and Development internship at Hottinger Brüel & Kjær (HBK) in Denmark, under the supervision of Dr. Tcherniak. His work focused on Virtual Sensing (VS) techniques to analyze the sensitivity of Modal Expansion Decomposition-based VS to instrumentation error, aiming to improve vibration prediction accuracy in structural analysis.
