His current research interests are in aerodynamic flow control through varying morphing actuation methods. 

Bio

Joseph Sutherland is an undergraduate student studying Aerospace engineering in the MANE department. He is currently pursuing research in the Intelligent Structural Systems Laboratory (ISSL) working on a morphing wing project constructing low fidelity finite element models. Started Spring 2026 he will begin his Master of Engineering at RPI studying aeronautical engineering where he will continue with the morphing wing project in the ISSL.
