I am so glad to share with you that Mr. Ahmad Amer of the Intelligent Structural Systems Lab (ISSL) has been awarded the prestigious 2019 Vertical Flight Foundation Scholarship! Congratulations Ahmad! So proud of you and looking forward to novel and exciting contributions to the vertical flight community!

Excited to announce that with Prof. Carlos Varela we have been awarded a 3-year grant from AFOSR to investigate the verification of stochastic sate awareness methods for data-driven aerospace systems! More info here: https://news.rpi.edu/approach/2019/01/31/grant-awarded-to-increase-inte…

If you are a highly-motivated student interested in my research areas, I would be very happy to discuss funded Ph.D. research opportunities for Fall 2019.

Students with a strong background and interest in stochastic systems, system identification, structural health monitoring, and machine learning are encouraged to contact me via email.

Essential elements are the motivation and intellect of the student.

Our recent work "Self-Sensing Self-Diagnostic Structures for Next Generation Intelligent Aerospace Systems" was presented in the Technical Meeting on Airworthiness and Health and Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS) hosted by AHS International's Redstone Chapter in Huntsville, AL, on February 21-22 2018.
